House fires. They’re hugely dangerous. More than a million fires were reported in the United States in 2014 alone, causing more than 3,200 civilian deaths. They’re brutal and deadly. We can insure and talk about being safe, but how would you actually react in one? And – more to the point – how would your children react…?
With the help of Moe and ET from OckTV, we decided to explore this subject and put two families and their kids to the test. Two house fires were mocked up using smoke machines. The parents waited on the front lawn, all confident their offspring what to do in the event of a fire.
But how the children actually behave? Differently. Some respond well. Others less so. It’s a sobering thought and one we all need to consider. Especially if we have children ourselves.
